Car Seat Headrest

02 Sep Car Seat Headrest – Teens Of Style

Car Seat Headrest is the recording moniker of Seattle based musician Will Toledo.

Over the past 5 years Toledo has been prolific, if unrecognised, releasing 11 digital albums which you can listen to over at his bandcamp.

However, the grind looks to have paid off, as Matador have just announced that they will be releasing Car Seat Headrest’s latest offering, Teens Of Style; a record which features reworked versions of songs from Toledo’s previous works, 3, My Back is Killing Me Baby and Monomania.

The record is set to be released on the 30th of October but you can listen to 2 of the tracks right this very second on Car Seat Headrest’s bandcamp (or linked below for your undeserving convenience).

“Something Soon” and “No Passion” hint at rich soundscapes and complex structures belied by no-fi, DIY sensibilities with irreverent, angsty lyrics like “I want to break something important, I want to kick my dad in the shins”, and, if they’re any indication of the the album’s trajectory, are bound to get many pretty fuckin hyped for this record.
