14 Aug Kelley Stoltz – Kim Chee Taco Man

Kelley Stoltz is one of the pioneers of the San Fransisco psych-garage scene which has pumped out such revered artists as Ty Segall, The Sandwitches, Thee Oh Sees and Sonny and the Sunsets.

His last record, To Dreamers, was released 3 years ago and it seems Mr Stoltz is going to break his triad of Earth’s orbit around the Sun’s silence with a new record called Double Exposure (actually recorded in the garage behind his house); set to be released via Third Man on the 24th of September in the States and on the 7th of October in these fair lands.

Kim Chee Taco Man, an homage to a mobile vendor of Korean and Mexican fusion cuisine, is the first single taken off the record.

It’s a rather lovely little track featuring an infectious 2 note bass riff, an ever so slightly muted, slowly strummed out, reverb soaked counter riff, locomotive percussion, cascading bright strings over the top and a blissed out, extremely chill vocal delivery.

Listen below yo and enjoy.
